Everything you need to know before your first game.
Airsoft is a tactical team sport where players use realistic replica firearms that fire 6mm plastic BBs. It's like paintball but without the mess — players honour hits by calling themselves out. Game modes include Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, King of the Hill, and objective-based scenarios. It's fast, strategic, and enormous fun.
Absolutely not. The majority of our players are first-timers or casual gamers looking for something different. We provide a full safety briefing before every session, show you how to operate your equipment, and ease you in with beginner-friendly game modes. Our marshals are on hand throughout to help and guide you.
Airsoft uses 6mm plastic BBs (no paint), relies on an honour system for hit-calling, and features more realistic replica guns. Paintball uses larger paint-filled capsules that break on impact leaving a visible mark. Airsoft is generally less messy, cheaper per session, has longer game sessions, and leans more tactical. Both are great fun — but we're biased!
It can sting — think of a firm flick or a bee sting. The sensation fades quickly and rarely leaves a mark (maybe a small bruise). Wearing layers helps. We enforce minimum engagement distances so you're never shot at point-blank range, and full-face protection is mandatory. Most players find the adrenaline means they barely notice hits during gameplay.
Yes — when proper safety rules are followed. Contact Airsoft enforces: ANSI Z87.1 rated full-face protection at all times in the game zone, chronograph testing of every gun before play (350 FPS limit for AEGs), trained marshals on every session, mandatory safety briefings, and strict minimum engagement distances. Removing eye protection during active play results in immediate ejection with no refund — this is a zero-tolerance rule.
Wear sturdy, comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty:
Essential: Long-sleeved top and full-length trousers (mandatory — no shorts or t-shirts), sturdy closed-toe footwear (trainers or boots), and layers in colder months.
Recommended: A change of clothes for the drive home, a hoodie or jacket for extra padding, and gloves if you have them.
Don't bring: Your own food (unless dietary needs), valuable items, or sandals. We provide lockers but can't guarantee security for personal belongings.
No! Our Rental Package (£50) includes everything: AEG gun, full-face mask and goggles, tactical vest, magazine pouches, battery, and 3000 BBs. If you do have your own gear, our Walk-On option (£30) lets you bring your own kit — just pass our chronograph check.
You may bring your own BBs only if they are 0.20g or heavier and biodegradable. We stock BBs on-site (£10 per 4000 bag). No personal pyrotechnics are allowed — this includes smoke grenades, flashbangs, and pyro. We sell approved pyrotechnics on-site (£4–£16) that meet our safety standards.
We provide free tea, coffee, and water. We also sell snacks and light refreshments. For full-day sessions, you're welcome to bring a packed lunch, or order from the food options we have on site (varies by event — check the event listing). Pizza is included with the Operator Pack.
Under 12: Not permitted. No exceptions.
Ages 12–13: Must be accompanied on-site by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
Ages 14–17: May play without a parent on-site with a completed Parental Consent Form and an emergency contact reachable by phone.
18+: Full participation — standard adult waiver applies.
All players under 25 should bring photo ID on their first visit (passport, driving licence, CitizenCard, or similar).
The easiest way is via our booking page — select your session type, date, and number of players. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the details. You can also book by phone or in person at reception. We recommend booking in advance, especially for weekends, as sessions fill up.
A £10 deposit per person secures your booking (walk-on), or £25 for rental packages. The balance is due on the day. Deposits are non-refundable within 48 hours of the game date but can be transferred to another date with more than 72 hours notice.
14+ days notice: Full refund minus deposit (deposit transferable to another date).
7–13 days: 50% refund.
3–6 days: 25% refund.
Less than 3 days: No refund (exception: medical evidence with doctor's note).
If we cancel (weather, safety, force majeure), you get a full refund or transfer — your choice.
Yes, depending on how much notice you give (see above). If you're ill or injured, we'll transfer your booking to another date with a doctor's note submitted within 7 days. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
We run multiple game modes each session to keep things fresh:
Team Deathmatch (TDM): Two teams, eliminate the opposition.
Search & Destroy: One team defends, the other attacks an objective.
King of the Hill: Hold a designated zone for points.
Capture the Flag: Grab the enemy flag and return it to base.
Bomb Run: Deliver a simulated device to the enemy base.
Free-for-All: Every player for themselves.
Our modular barrier system means the arena layout changes regularly too!
CQB standard limits (measured with 0.20g BBs):
AEGs (automatic): 350 FPS
DMRs (semi-auto): 400 FPS
Bolt-action snipers: 450 FPS (with 5m minimum engagement)
All guns are chronographed before every session. No exceptions, no "it was fine last time." Hot guns will not be allowed on the field.
Yes — airsoft relies on the honour system. If a BB hits you anywhere (including your gun), you must call "HIT!" loudly, raise your hand, and walk to the respawn point. This is fundamental to the sport. Players caught not calling hits ("non-hit-takers" or "ghosts") will be warned, then ejected for repeat offences. Everyone gets hit — it's part of the game!
Minor infractions (accidental blind fire, not calling a hit) get a warning. Serious safety violations — especially removing eye protection in the game zone or discharging a weapon in the safe zone — result in immediate ejection with no refund. Physical violence, hate speech, or being under the influence results in permanent bans. See our Terms & Conditions for the full behaviour policy.

UKARA (United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association) is a player registration database that allows you to buy realistic imitation firearms (RIFs) — i.e., your own airsoft guns. You do not need UKARA to play — rental guns are fine for every session. To get UKARA registered, you need to play at a registered site at least 3 times over a minimum of 2 months. We track your games and can submit your registration once you qualify.
Yes! Our membership programme offers monthly subs (£20/month) with benefits including discounted member session rates (£18 vs £30 walk-on), priority booking, member-only events, and early access to special game days. Ask at reception or check our pricing page for details.
Yes — select the Walk-On option (£30). Your gun must pass our chronograph test (350 FPS max for AEGs with 0.20g BBs) and be in safe working order. Bring your own BBs (biodegradable, 0.20g+) or buy them on-site. Your own mags, vests, and gear are all welcome.
